Unfortunately it has been necessary to cancelled Thursday's planned walk around Brandon Marsh nature reserve as many footpaths are flooded. Given the unpromising weather forecast, it seems most unlikely that that the floods will sufficiently recede to allow us a pleasant stroll.

It's very disappointing, as we were looking forward to it, but inevitably, this sometimes happens with a marsh. The winter can be a good time to to see the wide variety of birds that visit the reserve at this time of year. We will try again, hopefully when there is still plenty to see, but we don't have a new date yet.
