Several members have approached me to say how much they enjoyed Jo Phillips' April General Meeting talk about Charles Webb Iliffe, Coventry Coroner in Victorian times. He was just one member of a distinguished local family.
Jo is one of our regular speakers and one of the best at projecting her unamplified voice in our large echoing hall. Unfortunately our microphone/PA doesn't always produce perfect clarity for some and by declining the microphone Jo ensures we are able to listen without fear of technology getting in the way. Meanwhile the rest of us just have use the microphone and remember to speak into it when making announcements.

The coach trips organised by Coventry u3a are proving popular with some of our members and our branch is represented on all the trips which have been made available for "sign up". The latest announced, a trip to World of Wedgwood in August, has generated particular interest and we have secured places for all who put their name down. It would seem that anyone else who is interested would need to go onto a waiting list. We are very much in the hands of Coventry u3a, but very much appreciate them welcoming us on their trips. Please remember that when you sign up for a trip, full payment is required at the next monthly meeting.

We are in the process of setting up a Petanque group. If you would like to participate, please add your name to the list at the next monthly general meeting.
