Coach Trips with Coventry u3a

The number of places booked by our members for the Doddington Hall trip on Tuesday September 8th has been given to Coventry u3a, but it might well be possible to squeeze in one or two more. If you are interested, please bring £40 per head along to the June monthly general meeting. Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, is a privately owned Elizabethan manor house with Flemish tapestries and there are walled gardens within spectacular grounds. With over 400 years of unbroken family history, there are collections of furniture, ceramics, paintings and weaponry, while the visit will include a guided tour. The facilities include cafes, a restaurant and farm shop, all selling a wide variety of quality food and drink, as well as other retail businesses.

The final coach trip organised this year by Coventry u3a is to Batsford Arboretum in the Cotswolds, on Thursday October 15th. The 60 acre site has many beautiful and rare tree species and the Autumn is a particularly colourful time to visit. Included in the visit is a guided tour of the arboretum and there is also a cafe, garden centre and gift shop. The cost will be £35 each and we will be taking names at the June meeting.
