Coventry Sherbourne u3a was well represented at the recent funeral of one of its founder members, Dorothy Mayo. Many of us have fond memories of Dorothy who contributed greatly to our branch in the early days and continued to do so until quite recently, before her advancing years meant that she struggled to attend meetings, eventually going into a retirement home near family in Devon. Most recently Dorothy was part of our Book Lovers group, which she had started long ago, continuing to host it for many years and had also organised and led walks for our ramblers group. Dorothy was given a touching and well attended send-off with her many talents and interests revealed by her friends in some of the clubs and societies to which she made significant contributions.
Dorothy Mayo (right) helps to cut the cake at our 25th Anniversary Celebration.
