For July's meeting we were joined by poet, writer and general creative Andrea Mbarushimana who introduced us to their latest project "Coventry People". This is a series of 15 illustrated booklets that briefly tell in first person the stories of a persons life.
As Andrea explained we too often build our understanding of marginalised groups without actually knowing and having talked to anyone from those groups! The booklets offer a route to gain some insight into lives that face hardship and prejudice and maybe be less cautious about making those real people connections.
