Last week I joined a dozen of our members on a narrowboat trip, starting from Brindley Place in the centre of Birmingham. Meeting at Coventry Railway Station on another warm day, we hopped on a train and then the Birmingham Metro (tram) and we were soon among the many cafes and restaurants which face the ICC across the canal. It would have seemed a shame to let ignore these establishments, particularly after such an arduous (?) journey, so we dispersed to check out the coffee and buns on offer. Suitably refreshed, we congregated at beside Brindley Cruises' narrowboat. Our hour-long trip exploring the canals of central Birmingham was both fascinating and informative, thanks to Scott's amusing commentary and everyone seemed to enjoy it. After that, we again visited various catering establishments, this time for lunch, before travelling home independently.
